The Babysitting course refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.
Virtual Babysitting Course – offered over 3 days online, 2 hours per day. We will have breaks and a class outline will be emailed after registration with a description of what will be covered along with any homework assignments to be completed before the course.
Participants must attend all sessions. There will be no make-up sessions for classes missed.
Each participant will be provided with a babysitting kit that they can use moving forward in the course. These kits can be picked up at our office 857 N May St (ACO) before the course begins. For out-of-town and province participants—the kits will be mailed out. Please allow one week between session registration and course start dates to ensure delivery on time.
This class will be taught through Zoom Meeting technology. Participants will need a device that supports Zoom technology with audio and video capability and high-speed internet. Parents are not required to attend the course with their youth, however, they should be reachable during the course sessions.
